A huge pen-ultimate week of Premier League action ahead with 15 games spread across 6 days, any games in hand will be played this week, ahead of the closing weekend of the Premier League next week.
Everton vs Watford
Everton have faltered lately, losing to both Chelsea and Swansea in recent weeks and Watford are pretty much the same. Watford haven’t won in their last 3 games. Everton on paper are a much better side and on the pitch they have so much more talent. I fancy Everton to win. Everton win 2-0.
West Bromwich Albion vs Chelsea
Chelsea know that a win here will seal the Premier League title and Antonio Conte will surely hammer this home to his players, it’s going to be a tense night at The Hawthorns that’s for sure. However, the Chelsea squad is full of some very talented and highly motivated individuals who will be sure to put an end to this title race drama. It won’t be an easy game by any means but I fancy Chelsea to come away with the win. Chelsea win 1-0.
Manchester City vs Leicester City
Both teams have been on a mixed run of form lately, however both sides also come into this game on the back of big wins, 5-0 and 3-0 respectively. With Guardiola’s side looking to ensure they qualify for the Champions League next season, a win here is imperative. City have been boosted in recent weeks by the surprise early return of wonderkid Gabriel Jesus, I fancy the youngster to score as City go on to win. Manchester City win 1-0.
AFC Bournemouth vs Burnley
Burnley have a bit of reputation this season as they’ve only won once away from home and that was about 2 weeks ago, so they almost went an entire season without an away win. With both teams having mixed results lately, its hard to pick a winner but for the simple reason that Burnley have a terrible away record I’m siding with Eddie Howe’s men. AFC Bournemouth win 2-1.
Middlesborough vs Southampton
Boro’s relegation was confirmed last time out so they no longer have anything to play for, I know last week I said the pressure would change Sunderland and it did. However, I don’t see that happening with Boro. Southampton are strong favourites and its no surprise as they’re the better team in every single department. Southampton win 3-0.
Sunderland vs Swansea City
Sunderland managed to pick themselves up slightly last week with a 2-0 win after their relegation was confirmed but Swansea still have everything to play for. Swansea will be looking to build on that 1-0 win last week and put some distance between themselves and the bottom 3 in these late stages as they look to stage a great escape. I fancy Swansea to survive the drop but also to claim victory here. Swansea City win 1-0.
Stoke City vs Arsenal
Arsenal are in hot form right now, two impressive performances saw them pick up 2 wins from 2 games and leapfrog Manchester United into 5th. They’re just 4 points away from the top 4 and a win here could really put pressure on Liverpool who sit in 4th. Stoke are no pushovers as we all know, but their form says otherwise. They’ve just 1 win in 5 games. Stoke have a good recent record though against Arsenal, so I can see them standing firm and scrapping for a draw. 1-1 Draw.
Crystal Palace vs Hull City
A real 6 pointer in the relegation battle, but since Sam Allerdyce’s appointment Palace have gone from strength to strength. They’ve beaten the big sides and managed to pull away from the bottom 3. However, Hull have their own accolades to be proud of since the appointment of Marco Silva. A loss for Hull will confirm their relegation from the Premier League, but a win could setup an interesting final day. I really fancy Palace though, I feel that Benteke if he’s on his game will surely make Hull pay. Crystal Palace win 2-0.
West Ham vs Liverpool
Liverpool seemed to have slipped up a little bit lately, they followed up back-to-back wins with 1 win in 3 games. West Ham’s form isn’t much better to be honest with just 2 wins in 6 games although one of those was a massive win over Spurs, effectively handing Chelsea the title. This is going to be an interesting game and it should be a good watch for all fans. I cant decided between the two, I feel like The Hammers could make home advantage count but I also feel Liverpool can grind out yet another result in their quest for a top 4 finish. West Ham win 1-0.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Manchester United
It’s the final game before the reconstruction of White Hart Lane begins and the loss last week for Spurs will definitely be on their minds. United come into this on a high having qualified for the Europa League Final, so they’ll be looking to kick on and close on the top 4 and do all they possibly can to achieve a top 4 finish. I fancy United to steal this one. Manchester United win 1-0.
Chelsea vs Watford
Chelsea could come into this game, already crowned Premier League Champions. But you can bet this will not stop Conte’s men they’ll be looking for a grand stand finish. Chelsea win 2-0.
Arsenal vs Sunderland
Arsenal will be looking to continue their hot form, and what better way to do than brush aside the Premier League’s bottom side. For me, this is a foregone conclusion its easily an Arsenal win. Arsenal win 3-0.
Manchester City vs West Bromwich Albion
A tough test for Gaurdiola’s men, West Brom will prove a tough side to break down. City will be looking to push on with their objective of finishing in the Champions League spots. I can’t see West Brom getting the better of City here, especially at the Etihad Stadium. Manchester City win 2-0.
Southampton vs Manchester United
United largely hold their fate in their own hands, if they can win all the remaining matches including this game in hand, providing other results go their way they may sneak a Champions League spot. However, at the present moment that is highly unlikely but you can still bet United will be going gung-ho and all out to win this one. This is why I don’t think The Saints stand a chance, I reckon it’s United domination and non stop attacks. Manchester United win 2-0.
Leicester City vs Tottenham Hotspur
With the title seemingly gone, it remains to be seen how Spurs will bounce back following the West Ham defeat. Leicester have two massive games this week, first of all the game with City and now Tottenham so it’s going to be a tough week for them. I don’t think Spurs will be in a good place mentally and I also don’t think Leicester have what it takes to win, so I’m going to close out the week’s football with a draw. 0-0 Draw.
