A look ahead to all the Premier League action this weekend with all 20 teams back in action
West Brom vs Arsenal
The Gunners come into this on a high after banishing that embarrassing Champions League exit from their memory’s with an FA Cup win over Lincoln that saw them book a place in the FA Cup Semi Finals. Last time, Arsenal were blown away by Liverpool, 3-1. West Brom haven’t won in their previous two matches. I fancy Arsenal in this one however, I think The Baggies will make them work for the points and could even force a draw. Arsenal win 1-0.
Crystal Palace vs Watford
Crystal Palace come into this game on the back of back-to-back wins. A win here could start some serious momentum to help them avoid relegation and possibly even a winning streak. Meanwhile, Watford will be looking to turn their fortunes around following a defeat to Southampton. Sam Allerdyce will want to preserve his record of never having being relegated from the Premier League. I feel that this could prove an influential factor as Big Sam will be firing his lads up ready to win. I can’t see Watford lying down though they will put up a fight and they will be difficult to break down. 2-2 Draw.
Everton vs Hull
With Marco Silva’s men still fighting to avoid relegation, they travel to Goodison Park to face Everton. Everton have won their last three games at home and will be looking to make it four. After a much needed win last week against Swansea, Hull will have some momentum behind them knowing that they are only just one point away from escaping the relegation zone. Premier League top scorer, Romelu Lukaku will be looking to continue his rich scoring form as he seeks to win the Golden Boot. Hull’s struggles to keep goals out could be their undoing in this one against the powerful Belgian. Everton win 2-0.
Stoke City vs Chelsea
Chelsea will be looking to continue their stroll to the Premier League title in May with what on paper should be an easy win. Stoke put up a good fight in the reverse fixture as they pushed Chelsea all the way into a hard fought 4-2 win for Conte’s men. I really can’t see Chelsea being stopped now at this point and I fancy them to carry on their good form and win this one comfortably. Chelsea win 3-1.
Sunderland vs Burnley
Burnley have yet to win away from home, however Sunderland haven’t won in their last 3 games. With Sunderland struggling down in the relegation zone, I feel like this finally might Sean Dyche’s day away from Turf Moor. Burnley win 2-0.
West Ham vs Leicester City
Leicester have found out that they will face Atletico Madrid in the 1/4 Finals of the Champions League. Craig Shakespeare seems to have sparked some sort of revival for the Foxes as they’ve won all of their last 3 games in all competitions. West Ham will be looking to rediscover their form after no wins in their last 4. I don’t see either team getting the better of the other for this one. 1-1 Draw.
Bournemouth vs Swansea
Paul Clement’s team have climbed the table steadily since his appointment as they have fought their way out of the relegation zone. With only 3 points separating the two sides, Eddie Howe’s men really need a win hear to avoid being dragged closer to the bottom three. Swansea win 2-0.
Middlesborough vs Manchester United
United will be looking to get back to winning ways in the League after they defeated Rostov in the Europa League. A win for United would push them closer to their targeted top 4 finish. Boro come into this on the back of an FA Cup defeat and the sacking of now former manager Aitor Karanka. So who knows what is going on in the Boro camp right now. We know Zlatan will be missing for United due to his 3 game ban and they may also be without Paul Pogba after he limped off injured on Thursday night. United seem to dominate games but find it difficult killing games off and finishing chance in the final third. Manchester United win 2-0.
Tottenham vs Southampton
Both teams come into this one in relatively good form and I really can’t separate these two or pick a winner. Spurs are without superstar striker Harry Kane however Son stepped up with a hat trick vs Millwall. If Italian new boy Gabbiadini can score, he will have scored in all of his Premier League games so far. Southampton win 2-1.
Manchester City vs Liverpool
In a battle of 3rd vs 4th, City welcome Liverpool to the Etihad Stadium. City come into this after that heartbreaking Champions League exit in midweek whilst Liverpool are on a high after they claimed back to back wins against Arsenal and Burnley. Liverpool have a good record against the top sides as they seem to come alive and I feel Guardiola’s men could be suffering from a European hangover. Liverpool win 4-3.
