Matchday 25 Premier League Predictions

Hey guys I will be talking about the upcoming games in the Premier League this weekend, I will preview them and give you my own personal predictions.

Matchday 25

Arsenal vs Hull

The Gunners come into this, on the back two straights defeats in the Premier League. On the other hand, Hull’s fortunes have somewhat turned since the appointment of Portugese head coach Marco Silva. It does go without saying though this is the same Marco Silva who was in charge of an Olympiakos side that upset Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal.

With the Frenchman under pressure from his own fans and Silva’s stock on the rise with the Hull supporters a win for either side would be massive with the fans not only the league table. An Arsenal loss could see them lose ground on the Champions League spots with Liverpool only a point behind.

Meanwhile, Hull’s resurgence under Silva has seen a steady climb from the bottom of the table. A win for Hull will do massive things for the confidence of the squad if they can knock a top four side.

Arsenal will be missing some big names, the biggest being Santi Cazorla who is still out injured. As well as Aaronn Ramsey. There is some doubt over right back, Hector Bellerin after he suffered a head injury at Chelsea.

Hull also have some injury problems. They’re without club captain Michael Dawson and top scorer Abel Hernandez. Also after his horrific skull fracture, Ryan Mason is still out injured.

Arsenal win 3-1.

Manchester United vs Watford

Both teams are in good form, United’s previous outing was the 3-0 demolition of Leicester. Whereas, Watford come into this game with back to back wins.

A win for Jose Mourinho’s side could see them finish the weekend in the top 4. Watford currently sit in 10th and a win for them would certainly go a long way to avoiding a relegation battle.

United’s only major injury is Phil Jones, everyone else is back or just coming back so Mourinho pretty much has a full deck to play with.

Watford has a few players out, Costel Pantilimon, Nordin Amrabat, Camilo Zuniga and Christian Kabasele.

Watford have never recorded a victory over United at Old Trafford. With the Red Devils at seemingly full strength and on a 15 game unbeaten run in the Premier League, I’m going to say that this will be a home win for United at 1-0.

Middlesborough vs Everton

These teams are total opposites at the minute, Boro haven’t won a game in 4 Premier League games. Whereas, Everton are hot off that 9 goal thriller with Bournemouth, which they won 6-3.

Ronald Koeman’s Toffee’s are curently 7th a win wouldn’t really see the move up the table however it would be a good way to send out a statement of their intentions which I personally I think should be a top 5 finish at the very least.

A win for Aitor Karanka’s side would certainly put some distance between Middlesborough and the bottom 3.

Saturday’s game may see the return of Uruguyan Gaston Ramirez. Karanka will be missing fellow Spaniard Antonio Barragan as well as George Friend who is still recovering from injury

Everton don’t have any new injury worries so we should see a fully fit squad minus midfielder Mohammed Besic who is still some way from being fully fit.

Given that Boro haven’t won in 4 games and that Lukaku is the Premier League’s top goalscorer, I have to say this one is a forgone conclusion and Everton win  2-0.

Stoke vs Crystal Palace

Both teams come into this game on the back of a loss. Stoke lost 1-0 to West Brom and Palace suffered a 4-0 defeat to Sam Allerdyce’s former team Sunderland.

A win for Palace could lift them out of the bottom 3 which would keep intact Big Sam’s record of never being relegated from the Premier League. A win for Stoke could see them break into the top half of the table.

The only name missing from the Palace side may be Scott Dann.

Stoke are missing Xherdan Shaqiri, Glen Johnson, Geoff Cameron, Jonathan Walters, Jack Butland and Stephen Ireland. However we could see Berahino make an appearance from the bench.

Palace have the stronger squad available and Big Sam will be really firing his players up to keep his record intact. Palace win 1-0.

Sunderland vs Southampton

Sunderland are on a real high after their 4-0 destruction of Crystal Palace. Southampton meanwhile haven’t won in the last 2 games.

Southampton are without midfielder Thievy Boufal. They are also missing key central defender Virgil Van Dyke. However there may be a recall to the starting eleven for Nathan Redmond.

Sunderland could bring back  John O’Shea and Red Devil loanee Adnan Januzaj. However, Jack Rodwell is out. Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has returned to light training. Jan Kirchoff, Paddy McNair, Victor Anichebe, Duncan Watmore and Lee Cattermole are all sidelined with injuries. Another absentee is suspended defender Papy Djilobodji.

A win for Black Cats could lift them up the table however a Southampton win would push them closer to the top half of the table.

Saints win 3-1.

West Ham vs West Brom

West Ham are on the back of an away win at the St Mary’s Stadium. West Brom are also on a good run having not lost in their last 3 games, picking up 2 wins and a draw.

Bilic may be able to recall Aaron Cresswell and Cheikhou Kouyate. However the Hammers are definitely without Diafra Sakho and Angelo Ogbonna.

The Baggies have no notable absences, Jonny Evans is ready to return and also Claudio Yacob is expected to travel with the squad.

Hammers home win, 3-2.

Liverpool vs Tottenham

Liverpool aren’t on a good run, they have 1 point so far in 2017, this would be the perfect game to end that dismal run and pick up a win. Pochettino’s Spurs are on a good run lately not losing for 4 games in the Premier League.

Liverpool will be hoping Lallana is fit to play after a training injury, however Dejan Lovren is going to be monitored closely. Ragnar Klavan could also miss this one.

Spurs are missing Jan Vertonghen and Danny Rose.

A Liverpool win would see them potentially break into the top 4. A Spurs win would help them close the gap on runaway leaders Chelsea.

Draw 2-2.

Burnley vs Chelsea

Burnley are on a 5 game winning streak at Turf Moor, any result for Chelsea here will have to be earned. Chelsea will be looking to carry on their path of destruction and further extend their lead at the top.

Chelsea have a full strength squad for this although there is doubts over David Luiz.

Burnley have no new injury worries, they are still without Steven Defour and Dean Marney.

A Chelsea win extends the lead at the top, a Burnley could lift them into the top half.

Chelsea win 2-1.

Swansea vs Leicester

Both teams come in level on points, just one point above the relegation zone.

Swansea will be without Ki Sung-yueng and Jefferson Montero, but Jordan Ayew could make his debut.

Leicester’s only doubt is Leonardo Ulloa everybody else is fit.

A win for either side is massive as it keeps them away from the bottom 3, Swansea win 2-1.

AFC Bournemouth vs Manchester City

City come into this on a 3 game winning streak, Bournemouth however haven’t won in 3 games.

Bournemouth will be missing Callum Wilson and there are doubts over, Adam Smith, Simon Francis and Charlie Daniels.

City have a full fit squad and the arrival of Gabriel Jesus has really lifted the team.

A Manchester City win, will strengthen their hopes of finishing in the top 4, whereas a win for Bournemouth will put more distance between them and the drop zone.

City win 4-0.
